is this normal?

i have AIS in my w7 64 bit laptop and i am really happy but whenever i try to uninstall it it will always require to do it in safe mode using the uninstalling tool from Avast. Is there anything else i should do to repair this? Or this is the only way to uninstall AVAST IS . Well it is not that i really need this frequently but when it happens it surely is bothering.

Why are you using the uninstall tool in the first place, you should be using the normal add remove programs uninstall ?

If you are using the uninstall tool because the normal add remove programs uninstall doesn’t work, then it has to be used from safe mode or the avast self-defence module would block it.

If you’re using Control Panel Add/Remove program to uninstall Avast and it require you to use Avast Uninstall utility then it’s definitely not normal…

Is there another security app you running with Avast? My ThreatFire app will block unstinstalls unless I temporarily disable it.

I always use uninstall tool, I just disable the self defense module ??? I’ve never heard anyone say to use the regular add/remove programs to remove an av???

yes it is exactly what happens . i start to uninstall it normally and it says something is going wrong than i need to proceed with the un-installation process in safe mode. then i use the tool in safe mode .

There’s something wrong with your Avast installation then. Now that you use the Avast uninstall utility (aswclear.exe) in safe mode, proceed with reboot once or twice, installing Avast in this clean state should remove your problem with uninstallation problem next time you want to uninstall it.
