Issues with other programs

I am a Skype user, and I was also an Avast user in the past. In mid to late 2016, Skype had issues with getting me into Skype group calls while I had Avast installed on my PC.

Is there any way to fix this issue so that I can use Skype in group calls while keeping Avast on my system?

I think the main problem might be my specs.

Main specs:
N450 Atom Processor
1GB of RAM

Without knowing any details, there is not much we can say/do.

What exact OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ?
What exact version of Skype ?
Is Skype showing a error ? (if so, what is the exact error)
Is there any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
etc.

My OS is Windows 7 Service Pack 1.
The last version of Avast that I used was around 11.2.2262
Skype was not showing an error. It wouldn’t even play the connecting sound.
At the time of the events happening, I don’t remember any other security (related) products being open aside from GlassWire Network Security, which is what I used to monitor which applications were taking up the most network.

I think you may have some sort of audio problems in your computer? Is your audio driver working ok? How old is your computer?

My audio driver is working properly. As for the other question, I’m gonna estimate that my PC is about five years old.
