Most sites have a “Forgotten password?” link under the sign in box but Avast doesn’t seem to have this. How can I set a new password when I don’t know the old one?

Forgot to say I have Avast Premium and several add ons, all paid subscriptions, not free. If the same instructions as given above apply then it is quite ridiculous. To need to do all that instead of a simple link to lost password, like almost every other site on the internet. I am very happy with Avast as a tool, but I find some of its procedures unnecessarily difficult. Isn’t there a simpler solution?
As the only user of this computer I haven’t set a password to stop UI Changes. Mind you I’m in the UI a lot when helping others on this Community.
There is nothing to stop you making a not of a cryptic clue/reminder of the password.
It is okay, I just went to try signing in again and as before the password didn’t work, but this time there was a link under it to reset the password, which I have now done successfully. Thanks for you replies to my query.

Good to see it allowed a reset of the password, presumably there was some security hurdle you needed to pass in order that reset ?
