I've lost all protection providers!! ALL!!

Now my on-access protection control has zero providers installed, and currently I cannot choose between “normal” or “high”. It responds nothing when I click “Start”. Now there is always a red cross on my avast icon.

All these happens just after I updated my avast, what should I do? Is it a bug?? How do I fix it???

I would first attempt a repair of Avast through Add/Remove programs (in the Control Panel) first. If that fails to solve the problem, try uninstalling it then reinstalling from a fresh download.
