JS:Agent-CV [Trj] detected! What do I need to do?

This trojan was detected by my Avast background scanner today.

I was looking at some websites and was running a virus scan on Symantec. Then I got the warning “Caution! A virus has been detected!” The trojan was located in my computer at:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\00000029

File Name: 00000029

Scanned the file again while in the chest, same thing.

checked out virusscan.jotti.org, but but the folder that the infected file was moved into didn’t even show up.

What else can I do?

do you mean that you are running avast and symantec norton at the same time?

Forgot Avast was running in the background. I’m pretty new when it comes to viruses so…

You see the detection is inside symantec, this is what happens when you run two antivirus programs

That’s a bit of a relief. Thanks for the info. Would you say it’s safe to restore the file and just move on?

Edit: The Avast virus cleaner said there was nothing found.

I would let is stay in the chest for a week or two and if no problem delete, and you have to remove Symantec
there is a symantec norton removal tool (SymNRT) dont no if it works on Symantec endpoint but you can try

SymNRT is Nr.23 http://uninstallers.blogspot.com/

The Avast virus cleaner said there was nothing found
you mean avast virus cleaner, is that what you are running.........and not avast 4.8 or avast 5.0 ?

It was originally caught by Avast 4.8. I ran the cleaner as suggested here… http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=5373.0

but only after I moved it to the chest, I realize now…

don’t use Symantec my friend bcoz Avast is better than Symantec,…

Use the combination of Avast and Malwarebytes to protect your pc.
