JS:Pdfks-gen - really?

Avast pops up a warning about JS:Pdfks-gen when I “print” a 3d-pdf from my cad-program MicroStation. When I print a normal pdf Avast i silent.

Exploit have been blocked.

Everything else seems normal on the computer.

Can it be false positive - and how can I detect that?

Any help is much appreciated.

run hjt and post the log in your next reply

bare my ignorance - hjt, what is that?

you be the judge of dgdersvc.exe www.registrygenius.com/exe-errors/dgdersvc.exe.html

there shouldnt be so many missing files either

Run HJT again and be sure to only check the box beside entries with this at the end … (file missing) … as they are useless without a file.

See the links below for information about dgdersvc.exe as it should be safe and may be a part of the computer manufactor’s installation.

http://www.backgroundtask.eu/Systeemtaken/taakinfo/26455/dgdersvc.exe/

https://www.online-armor.com/oasis2/file/samsung_electronics_co_ltd/device_error_recovery_sdk/dgdersvc_exe/2966983

By the way, the registrygenius link is telling you how to fix an error. If there is no error, there is no need to fix it.

It was actually JS:Pdfka-gen [Expl] - or this is at least what Avast says now.

ANd I have some pretty important stuff to do tomorrow, so I will wait with any fixes until I can handle a crash of my computer. I’ll be back in a day or two.

Thanks for your help so far.

When you get back, let us know if there is anything in Avast Virus Chest

Switched on scanning of pdfs > no reaction from Avast any more.

Thanks to everybody that helped.

You are welcome, Thomasp, as I am glad to have helped in some small way.

skype could be suspicious because its used by millions of people. that being said, creators of viruses could change the program and make it malicious. but then again it might also be clean
