Hi every one.
Just joined, Had a look in my profile but cannot find any where to apply an Avatar.
I’s probably me but if any one can guide me I would appreciate it.
Only installed Avast this morning, have no problems it seems very stable and doesn’t appear to be a resource hog, so I’m a happy bunny.

I failed miserably, clicked on every thing in Profile/Info but could not find any reference to Avatars.
Think you’ll have to take me by the hand ;D

Welcome to the forums.

  • You need 20 posts to be able to edit your profile and use the PM function:
    The problem comes from drive by spammers, who having registered put objectionable or commercial links in their profile signature to try and gain link promotion, etc.

There have also been cases of the PM function being abused to spam forum members, so you will notice that you can’t use the PM function either.

Unfortunately because of the actions of others legitimate members suffer by the actions to prevent this spamming.

I quite understand, the last thing any of us wants is spammers or worse.
Shame we have to think of these things, luckily most people out there are
decent honest types it’s just the few rotten apples that make life difficult.

Like email spam there are lots of people that try to plant their spam on forums. Fortunately it isn’t as bad as email. It just makes it a bit harder for them, but also for legit members.

Hi I’m new to, That answers my question about avatars :slight_smile: Just saying I moved from Comodo av (long time CIS user) to Avast big difference. I love it! Faster scans, faster computer, and I feel better protection. Thank you Avast!

I’m sure your experience with Avast will be more than acceptable.
Did you keep the Comodo firewall?

Yes but I had to go back to version 4. Version 5 has to many bugs. I think it has to do with the cloud scanning which was the 1st thing I had to turn off. My computer kept freezing. My thought is that with all the new changes to CIS that things are not working too well together. And I’m using xp maybe it works better on windows 7.

Pondus yes I have thought about using Outpost. Comodo is getting very hard to deal with.
