After installing Avast on my win8.1 PC my wireless keyboard driver got compromised. (it shows error code 19) But my mouse was still working. (they use the same receiver)
I’ve tried using a different (wired) keyboard, but it didn’t work either.
How do i solve this?
You need to thoroughly read and I’d wait for an expert to comment here…I’m only providing some history.
Note, modifying your registry can cause more problems than fix…so make sure expert guides you.

If it was me I’d boot into safe mode and uninstall Avast using their util: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
This will cleanly uninstall…then reboot…see if keyboard works and then try to re-install.
Another thought is since mouse works go into Device Manager and re-install keyboard driver…or get keyboard driver from web and re-install…obviously something is corrupted on it.
