LANGUAGE / Pop ups

Can I have the forum in french? not that I don’t speak english, but I am more comfortable with the expressions of internet in french.

What anti pop ups is best for me and goes well with Avast.

Thank you

There is only one official avast forum and that is English language only unfortunately, for those that can’t speak English and harder still, write English they could use one of the on-line translation services, http://babelfish.altavista.com/.

They aren’t perfect by any means, grammar being the usual problem area but for the most part it is workable. As you can see in this translation.

Anti pop-ups should have no interaction with avast, but I use Firefox and it has its own pop-up blocker.

There are a few French speakers in the forum regulars and they do on occasion help using French. The problem being that cuts the number of people that can offer help.

Thank you I will continue with english, please foget my mistakes, if I dont understant I will ask for the transalation, whom ever responds.

Au plaisir

Welcome to the forums, jazzy45.

Welcome to the forums.

You will find people in the forums very tolerant to mistakes as many don’t have English as their first language, those that do have English as their first language (myself) admire those who are able to at least try, so don’t worry about any mistakes.

You can use the Spell Check button too 8)
Also, you can go to an automated translation service, copy & paste your text and get, at least, an automated translation of your writings:
Chose the best for your needs:

I like the firefox extensions, Translate 0.6.0.8 (context menu integration) and Translator 1.0.4.3 (if you arrive at a page you can select translate complete page and associated links if you use them, status bar icon).

Translate 0.6.0.8 is not compatible with Firefox 2.0.0.2 but Translator 1.0.4.3 is.

It is running merrily on my version of ff 2.0.0.2 ???

That’s the current version.

That’s correct and Translate 0.6.0.8 is running on it contrary to Tech’s comment that it isn’t compatible.

I’ve tried to install and it was refused due to incompatibility.
The plugin page says the same: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/181/
Or we’re talking about a different plugin…

I have had this plug-in installed for some time and have updated firefox a couple of times since and each update checks for extension compatibility and disables those not compatible. I have in the past tweaked some extensions that wouldn’t work, but I’m unsure if this was one of them.

You could choose just to download the .xpi file, I’ll send you a PM.

Can you send it to my email? You have it 8)
Thanks. The problem is on the information on the plugin website as well… maybe the incompatibility appears only on new installations of the plugin… how knows…

Email sent.

I’ll test it… Thanks.
