laptop shut down halfway through avast! boot scan

Hi, the power supply run out while my laptop was in the middle of boot scan I didn’t realize I didn’t on the power supply. So when I on the laptop back on it tells me it has problem starting windows and I was given 2 option, (1) to repair it and (2) to start windows so I choose option 1 and end up having to do system restore.

I was wondering whether avast will have any problem or corruption due the the system restore cause I only updated my avast from 6 to 7 recently I am not sure if avast was properly installed. Will there be any problem to my laptop due to the incomplete boot scan?

Only you can judge whether there is any corruption problem’s, if you hover over the avast ball does it say you are protected? do all shields say running in the UI? you can look in task manager to make sure that the avast UI and avast svc are running, if your not sure you can always perform an avast repair via remove programs.

Hi thanks for the fast reply I have reinstalled the avast just to be safe but what I would like to know is whether the computer will be affected due to the boot scan being stop suddenly.

Well if your new install of avast worked and your system was able to reboot properly after the install then i’d say it’ll be alright

Your system should be fine but, have you run another boot time scan since the first one never finished ???
