Last month I updated to Adobe Flash Player Plug-in Version 11.9.900.170 and shortly before that my Avast! updated it engine software as well. Ever since these two programs have updated, I have been experiencing a world of issues with Flash crashing websites.
Error message is “Internet Explorer encountered a problem and needs to close” then it tries to reopen the broken page in a new tab. Sometimes the tab reloads, sometimes it crashes / reloads indefinitely.
System Specs:
Win7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
Intel Core i7-3770k CPU @ 3.50 GHz, 16 GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6670
I’ve gone through uninstalled IE back down to IE 9
Uninstalled/Reinstalled Adobe Flash Player/Shockwave, Java and Windows up-to-date, including my G930 headset and video card.
Still no luck with a resolution, I upgraded back to IE 10, and still experienced the same issue:

Then I went through and disabled the avast! Online Security, I still received the same issues but not as often. With that I went into avast! Security Shield and disabled everything.
I have ran my system this way for 2 days now and have not experienced one IE crash or odd behavour with websites at all.
Could you please help me with this, I don’t like having my system unprotected just to surf the web. BTW this does not happen in Firefox, only IE (all versions including IE 11).
The first thing I did was search the forums, I did not see anything with the same issue just ppl having core dumps and other problems, not one of them mentioned it effecting Flash either. So I posted it. In hopes that it would help resolve the issue between the web browsers, flash and avast. IF you know of a link with a solution in it that I’m not finding then please paste it to me so I can review it.
Until then, the issue stays the same, and not exact as other common issues.
Just really hope a fix comes FAST - I don’t like having the virus protection disabled, just disabling the AOS in IE didn’t work. The crashing didn’t stop at all until I disabled the entire program
Well not sure what to tell you, but I have been running my system currently now for 48 hours without the avast shields or online browser shield and have not had 1 crash of flash at all. Tomorrow I’ll reboot the system and reactivate all the Avast shield and web shield and see if it happens again, and report back.
The best explanation is that each system configuration is unique.
I have DeepScreen turned off, Use Code Emulation turned off in Heuristics for all shields, and Use Intelligent Screen Scanning turned off in the Main settings of the Web Shield.
I let my COMODO free firewall handle those duties.

Why bother having avast! installed since you've disabled what protects you while you're on-line ???
If you need to open a page that requires flash, use a different browser till the problem is solved but don't go on-line unprotected. :)
If you're using Chrome and have a problem with flash, the following video will help you:
