Sorry for the wrong section - new here. Anyway, they have my money and my verified email account. Guess they want blood next . . . I’ll just request a refund and find other virus software . . .
OK - it was verified this morning, the email was NOT fake. They actually want me to send a copy of my driver’s license or passport or they won’t send me an updated license!
I told them that I have had a verified Avast account for years, a verified email account and send them my receipt of payment. Plus, they already have my money, it was withdrawn from my bank yesterday morning! If this isn’t enough proof of my identity, refund my money and I will take my business to someone else . . .
I suspect that this isn’t avast insisting on this but Nexway and it is possibly an anti fraud measure to supposedly protect you (depending on the payment method you chose when renewing).
It is Nexway insisting on this proof but I paid with a debit card and they already have my money. Can’t figure why they want more proof from an account years old that was verified.
What they hell, I’ll move my business because I’m not sending a copy of my driver’s license or passport through email. . .
I purchased my renewal through the Avast main panel screen. It tells me I have 3 days left and if I would like to renew, click here. It never goes to a web page but stays on the Avast panel on my PC . . .
For the purchase through the program is from Avast directly and not a reseller. You said you sent a ticket, how did you submit it? Try sending to Sales (at) avast.com and that should go to the internal avast team
I submitted a ticket through Avast but they won’t issue renewal until I complete the requirements from Nexway and I’m NOT sending driver’s license or passport through email. It’s been 3 days and nobody will respond to my emails now. I feel like I’ve been hijacked, they have my money and won’t talk any longer . . .
Guess I should actually request a refund per the Avast Terms and Conditions:
Customer’s right to cancel

Right of cancellation – Customer shall have the right to cancel any order within a period of 7 (seven) working days after the purchase date. If the Customer wishes to cancel an order, the Customer shall contact Nexway by email at avast_en@nexway.com, supplying order details and explaining the reason for his request.
Consequences of cancellation – In the event of effective cancellation by the Customer, Nexway shall refund any payment made for the products under the cancelled order. The Customer’s right to use the relevant product(s) shall terminate immediately upon order cancellation. The Customer must delete or destroy the products and all copies from the Customer’s computer and any other device or media to which the Customer has copied the products.
I received an email saying “This order is on hold waiting for ID via email. It was placed using an open proxy, which masks the users location and is commonly used by fraudulent orders.”
So now you can’t use open proxy, can’t seem to find that in the terms and license agreement. They have my money so how could this be a fraudulent order? Avast may have a good product but a person can only that so much s**t . . .
Won’t sell to me because I use open proxy, what a way to get business!
