Legitimate warning or scam?

I rebooted my computer and immediately got a pop up screen from Avast (??) telling me it detected a new network and “I should choose the appropriate firewall mode for the new network”. Is this something new? I did not change networks so where did this come from? A few weeks ago I got a similar warning from Avast (…“Virus detected->install and run new virus scan…”)which turned out to be a scam whereby they wanted me to buy a new virus program from a company I never heard of, so I am reluctant to follow up on any one who wants me to change/add or do something of which I have no knowledge.
I am attaching a screenshot of the pop up message.
Please advise as to whether this is in fact legitimate or not.
Thanks.

It is legit, I get that as well

Check your comp for malware with this

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.50.1 http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
always update the program so you have latest database before you scan
click the remove selected button to quarantine any infections found

If anything is found, please post/attach the scan log here

yepytzme, I assume you are from Canada as well as I. I am with EastLink Cablesystems and I get the same message you do. I wouldn’t worry to much about it, Of course you should monitor the firewall!
