Last night I had a pop up saying my lic was about to expire. Today when I logged on it said last update failed because lic was expired. I don’t know what to do???

Are you using Avast Home Edition?
If you are using Avast Home Edition, then visit here to obtain a new license key: http://www.avast.com/i_kat_207.php?lang=ENG
“avast! 4 Home Edition is the 60 days demo after installation. You will obtain FREE license key by E-mail after the registration. The license key is valid for 1 year. After that you are re-register to obtain new license key.”
After you have filled out the form and have received the e-mail from Avast do the following: Copy the License Key, Right-click the Avast icon in the system tray, go to ‘About avast!..’, click on the License Key button, and paste the license key.

Thanks! I am using the free home edition. Do I have to put in new settings? My grandson set it up for me and he isn’t here. I ran a scan today and it worked. I will get a new lic. Key.

Your welcome. I believe your settings will be retained.
I think you would only need to put in new settings if you had uninstalled Avast Home and then reinstalled Avast Home.

You don’t need to reinstall avast! or put new settings, just put the new registration key and your done.
