First a big thankyou to Alwil for such a great, reliable and free bit of software.
I have had Avast! Home Edition on my home desktop PC for 5 safe years. A year ago I bought a laptop for the family and initially put Kaspersky Anti-Virus on it as there wasn’t much else that supported Vista at the time. I have just removed that product and installed Avast! and was very pleased to find that it actually starts much more quickly than Kaspersky did and is working fine.
My question is - Is it OK to use the one license key on both installations of Avast! or should I register for a second key? (And if I can use this key - is there a limit to the number of times I can use it concurrently?)
Why not register again? I mean its free and only takes a few seconds! I think the key is a way they track the number of installations, so i’d suggest you register again
I don’t mind registering again. But it could get a bit confusing. I could loose track of which key is for which machine especially if I buy any more kit for the family!
I have actually tried installing the key I already have and Avast! didn’t complain so I’m guessing that it’s good for up to x number of PCs. But I can’t find any small print that tells me what I can or can’t do in this respect.
Thanks - Yes both are just home PCs. Using the same key twice would seem to be the easiest option. As long as that’s the right thing to do. I would be happy to register twice if that’s what Alwil want but I couldn’t find anything in the license agreement about it.
Because it’s not necessary and correct. Same key for the same home use computers. By the way, using the same email address you’ll receive the same key
