I bought hte Pro version of the security suite for my laptop and was able to install that 3 days ago. I went to DL the program for my home PC this morning and the link to DL from the cnet site just redirects to FieldMinistry 1.10 DL page? Where can I get the US version so I can install? Can someone from Avast get download.com to fix this please?
Are you talking about downloading the free antivirus version of 5.0 for your Home PC ?
If so try this - Download avast 5.0.396 free antivirus - http://www.majorgeeks.com/download1968.html?2010-01-29
If you are talking about the avast antivirus Pro version (not the Suite) then try this direct link - http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_pro_eng.exe.
No, I am talking about the avast! Internet Security Suite (3 pc’s 1 year paid version) located here: http://download.cnet.com/FieldMinistry/3000-2124_4-10977269.html?tag=mncol - Click on that link then click to DL and you will see what I mean.
Do we link to the previous page? This one seems to work:

You say it was installed on your laptop three days ago, didn’t you save the installation file that was used then ?
As you should be able to copy that to a USB stick or CD and save it to your PC hard disk and then run it again there.
Try this link the download locations seems to be working there, http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Avast-Internet-Security-Download-145381.html.
@ kubecj
That link works, but the page reports it as AIS version 5.0.377 and not 5.0.396 ???
Is this just a stuff up by Cnet, the one at Softpedia.com is reported as the latest version 5.0.396.
I got hijcaked at CNet(could have been partly due to infected Dune 2k app)…I used to think they were cool to til EVERYBODY and their dog started port scanning their servers. I posted about this and the solution is here:
Well the link is wrong on cNet so that’s the first problem, seems like just a simple fix if you can get cNet to do that. The softpedia DL link works fine and is DL’ing now.
@david I could have grabbed it off my laptop, but I wanted to make sure I was getting the latest version which it looks like it wasn’t anyway, but I needed to point out the problem on cNet as well (someone mentioned it in the feedback too…) the negatives about the broken link seem to drag down the rating of a great product so I just pointed it out so it could get fixed…
