LoaderX.class

Anyone have more information on this? I’m running windows 7, 32 bit and IE8. Wednesday nights Avast scan picked up a Jscript in IE8 temp folder. I ran CCleaner (updated), a full updated MBAM scan, full AVAST scan, and a full boot-time scan. LoaderX.class was picked up on the boot-time buried deep in the Java folder and was successfully sent to the chest.

No other malware was detected by either Avast or MBAM. My Java and all other software is fully patched and up to date. The computer is running fine.

Should I do anything else?

This sounds like you might be running an old version of JAVA as .class detections have in the past been associated with out of date JAVA.

I would also suggest a visit to this site, which scans your system for out of date programs that have patches to close vulnerabilities, http://secunia.com/software_inspector/.

Thanks David, I’ll take your suggestion. Looks like this is more of an inconvience rather than a problem since nothing else was detected and the machine is running fine

You’re welcome, the secunia site is handy to check multiple applications that it monitors for security updates.
