I’ve been using Avast for many years, and honestly, my satisfaction level is just average. I don’t use Avast for bells and whistles—I use it for one simple reason: to keep my computers secure from hackers, malicious activity, and anything that could compromise my personal or financial information.
Lately, though, the experience has become incredibly frustrating.
The constant pop-up messages pushing additional services are absolutely out of control. They show up way too often, interrupt what I’m doing, and feel more like aggressive advertising than helpful security notifications. It’s distracting, annoying, and frankly a waste of my time.
I get that Avast is a business and wants to promote its products, but there has to be a balance. Right now, it feels like the user experience is taking a back seat to upselling, and that’s not why I signed up for Avast in the first place.
So I’m asking the community:

Is there a reliable way to completely stop or significantly reduce these promotional pop-ups?

Are there specific settings, versions, or configurations that make Avast behave more like a quiet security tool instead of a marketing channel?

Has anyone else dealt with this and found a solution that actually works?
I’m seriously at the point where I’m considering switching providers if this doesn’t improve. I’d prefer not to—I’ve been with Avast a long time—but this is getting hard to tolerate.
