When I turned my PC on this morning there was a message stating that my firewall was turned off. I went into maintenance and turned it back on (I don’t actually know how it was turned off), and the moment I did this there was a message from Avast telling me I was now covered by their free anti virus. I pay for Avast Premier and my subscription doesn’t expire until 27/1/17. I contacted Avast customer support about 10am today and am still waiting for them to contact me. I’ve also requested that Avast re-send my licence so I can re-install the anti-virus programme I’m paying for but they’ve not replied to that either.

There is no need to contact avast if you want your license.
You can download the license file through your avast account or use the link Pondus posted.
Yes I used the link you’ve specified to contact customer support and wondered what the usual time scale is for a reply as I’m still waiting for a response. In the meantime I can’t use my PC fully.
Later today I found a section on the Avast website (not a link) which I used to request a copy of the licence but it said I had to download it, and given what happened on my PC this morning, I wasn’t sure if I’d make matters worse by doing this.
I have checked my Avast account and it shows that I have Avast Premier and quotes the expiry date, but the icon on my PC now states I have Avast free anti virus only, and this has replaced the Avast Premier programme on my PC.
Response time to a ticket is 1-5 workdays.
It depends on how busy it is, if there is a holiday etc.
Thanks for your help. I’ve used the link you specified and ‘re-installed’ Avast Premier. It shows in programmes as having replaced Avast free anti-virus, but gives today’s date as the start date so is treating me as a new user. But maybe I can sort this out with customer support when they get to me.
I would say wait for their response.
No need to make things complicated by getting helped by multiple people on different places, right
Hi Ashlea
Can you please post your Ticket ID ?
Than we can ask an Avast Moderator to look at it.
