Hi All…I seem to have lost all my sounds for notifications, no more Mr. PoliteVoice informing me of installed updates, etc…It all worked perfectly well at first and then the sounds just disappeared (under Program Settings/Sounds the “Disable avast! sounds” box is unticked)…any suggestions???

You can change the sounds: Right click the ‘a’ blue icon > Program settings > Sounds > Settings > Browse to avast set of sounds.
Hi Tech - Thanks mate…I know that, but I am a bit lost when I get into the sound settings… they are currently set to Windows Default…I only seem to have the choice between Windows Default or None…so what do I do when I get there? Sorry to be such a noob.
Change whatever you want and save the scheme with a name you give it.
Windows can attribute sounds to a lot of events, avast among them.
The avast default sounds are in the folder \English folder (or your language one).
