Lost Excel & Word since downloading Premium

Am kind of new to this, but I successfully downloaded and ran all the checks with Avast Premium. However, I now seem to have lost Word & Excel, although the data files are still on my computer, but I can’t open anything! : Grateful for advice, please.

Are you getting avast alerts when you try to open them ?

What versions of MS Office (or word & excel) do you have ?

I still use a very old (and I do mean old) and some time ago avast alerted on them partially because they were so old and weren’t in the database. I had to add the program files to the exclusions.
