Has anyone, relatively recently, been receiving loud bong noises as if there is an error. This seems to happen simply when an automatic scan has just occurred. This has been annoying and taken time to get accustomed to. Am I missing something?

The problem being posting in the General sub-forum doesn’t give any clue as to what Avast program or Device (Windows PC/laptop, Android or IOS), Guessing Windows, but you don’t say what your settings are ?
Check this if you are using Avast for Windows, Avast UI > Menu > Settings > General > Notifications, see image.
You are absolutely correct. I’m an idiot….As you might guess, I’m a novice at asking for help, and in my mind, I assume everyone knows exactly what I’m speaking of, and I neglect all the variables. Anyway, DavidR, your attached screen provided me with a direction to try. I will work with that for now and possibly revisit this again in the future, if necessary.
