We’re excited to announce a big step forward in our browser journey - the official beta release of our Mac version.
It contains many of the features that our Windows version already enjoys, including:
Adblock
Anti-Fingerprinting
Anti-Tracking
Anti-Phishing
Password Manager
And much more…
Try it out and share your feedback here in our forum. We need your help to build the best browser we can and help shape our now cross-platform product roadmap.
Just got the browser installed and imported all my bookmarks. On first impression it is bright, clean and fast. Great first impressions!
I did notice that the settings menu, the 3 vertical ellipses are blank unless I mouse over them.
Hi Kharihalter, thanks for your feedback and great to hear it’s bright, clean, and fast!
The reason why the settings menu is blank, is because at the moment we don’t support Dark Mode.
Our developers are working on this, and soon we will support Dark Mode. If you want to see the settings menu, please change to Light Mode on your Mac. You can find this in System Preferences > General
Just got the Mac Early access installed and I LOVE it!! My only suggestion so far in my short time using it, would be to add a preference to prevent videos from auto-starting when visiting a web page (such as CNN).
Great work guys and gals!!
i cried tears of joy when i found the beta secure browser. i’ve been a customer of avast since it was a modest little ‘a’. i think its been over 20 years on and off. mostly on when i have a computer. now i have an apple (sick of win10 crashing or fidgety) and i’m dancing in the street. insert kowtow here. thank you avast and all who sail in you.
So far I am liking the Avast secure browser for Mac. I would like to be able to have my bookmarks in a sidebar always open, as I have them in Firefox. It’s much more convenient than using the dropdown menus. The browser seems to load sites quite fast and I like that.
All websites and pages are loading fast and well. I did just happen to notice an obscure problem. I’m not sure if its something I did in changing settings or something else entirely.
Now facebook itself loads rather quickly in the Avast Browser; however recently I had to create and manage a facebook page, but the page that I created takes a long time to load. I tried it in chrome it works just fine, same with safari. I cleared cache, cookies and history that did not seem to help.
So I’m not sure if this is some setting that I may have customized that is making the page run slow or if its facebook being… well facebook. And I never would have run into it if I didn’t create a fb page
So I’m curious if anyone else has run into it or has any suggestions.

After disabling Avast Anti-Tracking, I noticed the tab itself took a little longer to load, the page itself pulled up the first few attempts, but after clicking through the page it struggled to load like before.
After disabling Avast Adblock (reenabling Anti Tracking), I was able to pull the page up but after clicking through and then trying to go back to the page’s home it just gets stuck like before.
After disabling Avast Avast-Anti-Fingerprint (Avast Adblock reenabled) same as before, the page loads fine, after clicking through (posts, reviews and back to “home”) it gets stuck and won’t load the pages home.
Hello, kharihalter! I tried to reproduce this behavior for a new Facebook page(created and managed) with all the details related by you but I couldn’t reproduce it, for me it worked.
Can you, please, check the network traffic when loading the page in Avast Secure Browser and see which requests take a long time to complete and also any potential errors? After this, please, send us the result and screenshots.
Thank you!
Hello, Khari! Until now, we can’t reproduce this issue and we do not have such errors in the console. One of the reasons of slow loading page could be the errors because the browser is waiting for a response from the server. We will continue to investigate and I will let you know what is the status.
Thank you!
