Makers of Storm worm like to infect you...

Hi malware fighters,

The makers of Storm worm are ready to infect you with I love you revisited and also with SQL injection malware, see: http://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=1131

What’s a storm worm. How bad is it? How do you get it?

What is Storm worm, What is google ;D http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Storm+worm, first hit, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storm_Worm.

Yeh, I have no idea what it says. Does avast find it?

avast detects a number of storm infections, 40 versions, including one called win32:SQLStorm@UXP[WRM], so it may well have it covered. However there is no guarantee as there is no standardisation in virus/worm naming.

But I think you can be sure if that isn’t it then it will be added when a sample is analysed.

You should be taking pro-active measures anyway, practising safe hex to combat what are termed Zero Day viruses (currently undetected). I would start with a browser like firefox and add to that the NoScript add-on, this should combat these iframe exploits. Not to mention avast detects iframe exploits and that may be what would be flagged as the detection rather than storm.

well according to several sites Avast! is missing quite large number of Storm variants so i don’t know what to think … i hope it’s just some error

Maybe this is something for an Alwil Team member to address ???

Hopefully one of them is listening.
