I have a similar problem to the one described here. I keep getting this warning all the time. I just got it twice while typing this post.

Scans seem to do nothing. Sometimes clicking Google links also redirects me to advertisements or malware. I have read that these problems are often related. This is a recent install of Windows so I was considering just reformatting and starting fresh, but that would involve backing up and transferring hundreds of gigabytes all over again.
I’ve never had to tackle a problem like this with guidance before, but I’m pretty good at following instructions. Any help would be appreciated.

Running OTS gives a warning prompt that the application is potentially unsafe. To err on the side of caution, I just want to confirm that it’s safe to run if I don’t use other programs.
