I think the tiny-process didn’t work on this URL, Damien. The link seems dead.
Working for me it launched Windows Media Player (bad since my default player JetAudio with WMA codec) and is starting to download, buffer, stream, etc. A pain when you are using dial-up and at 294MB I don’t thing I will still be alive when it completes downloading on dial-up so I will end the test ;D
However, during the test I also experiencing another problem, I have only got audio and not video, I don’t know if that is a dial-up issue of WMP.
Hi mauserme,
The link was from Microsoft TechNet, presentation with Mark R.:

Hope this time the link works for you in Media Player.

The first link worked fine for me but still only audio and no way I can wait around for 294MB download, life is definitely too short.
Hi DavidR,
Sorry this is not for you. Hope the authorities come and take your connection to be more 2007-like.
You are not out in the desert there, so it is a shame actually, broadband does not come to a place near you.
For all the others there is this great video-clip on Automated Botnet Detection by Georg Wicherski here:

My Telephone Exchange is broadband enabled but it is 9KM of copper cable away and many checks say broadband may be possible up to 256KB but not guaranteed. However, most ISP don’t care about this physical limitation and you pay full rate for their 2MB or 8MB service.
I know 256KB is much higher than dial-up but I don’t like getting ripped off and a long hard look at my internet use doesn’t really justify broadband.
Thanks polonus. The first link works for me at the office so I might need to reveiw my firewall rules on the home set up.

Feel for you. I once updated xp to xp sp2 on dial up with an error half way through the first time It was over 8 hours not counting the sesion with the error. >:(
I think I waited until SP2 came on the Cover CD of a computer magazine before I installed it. That gave a suitable delay for any bugs/kinks to be ironed out. As I said this is slightly self inflicted as I could at least try and see what sort of service I could get, it’s paying a first class fare for a second or third class ride that annoys me more (so I have to live with my decision). Many Internet Service Providers have a bandwidth cap (or pay more) but they make no concession for your connection not being close to the service you pay for.
