Malware in my laptop

Hi all - I was looking for video editing software on Google and a product called VideoPad by NCH Software was recommended. I went over there and downloaded a trial. During the download Avast warned me a couple of times malware warning. So I did not run the .exe file.
Several days later I was running another .exe file in the same folder and only realized what I’d done when Videopad turned up in my Start menu. I’d run the wrong .exe file :frowning:
It’s a dummy in that it doesn’t run the program, it does nothing. But you can’t uninstall it from Device Manager.
I did some research and it appears NCH are a bad bunch and their stuff can put bad stuff all over a pc.

Am using Windows 10

How can I clean this stuff up?

Do I need to clean it up?

My thanks in advance for any help.
