Having the same issue. Started after the definition update earlier today. Can’t go into any drive without it flagging the desktop.ini in the drive’s recycle bin folder. It’s getting annoying now. I’m on the same app build and definitions version; only difference is I’m on Win 10 Pro.
Hello @user7536 and @OrdosAlpha,
Thank you for raising this!
The reported file was checked, and based on the findings, the detection was removed. The file (desktop.ini) is now marked as clean in the Avast database. This change may take up to 1 hour to take full effect. After that, you can restore it from the Quarantine.
Please accept my apology for the inconvenience caused.
If the situation persists after 1 hour, please update the Avast virus database and try again.
I’ll be glad to hear the outcome.
Thank you.
Glad to hear that this is being resolved. I just ran into the same issue. McAfee gave the same error so I should probably reach out to them.
Hello @user7536,
Thank you for checking. Yes, please contact McAfee directly if you see an error within its app.
