Malware redirect infection

Hello,

I am afraid I have been hit by the same virus/malware that seems to be plaguing a number of other people. Avast keeps blocking redicrects to sites like go.wyvdeo.com and c.t.c.adlinker.net.

At the same time, malwarebytes keeps blocking various .exe processes in the folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ folder

These processes include: dllhost.exe, fixmapi.exe, ctfmon.exe, upnpcont.exe, rundll32.exe, NATSTAT.EXE, msfeedssync.exe among others. When I look at Task manager, various processes with those names keep popping up and taking up hundreds of megs of RAM.

Can I simply delete the SysWOW64 folder, or is it actually a key windows operating system folder? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m currently running malwarebytes and AVAST, and I’ve downloaded FRST, though I don’t know it well enough to create my own fix list.

Thank you

Thank you for responding so quickly. I ran Malwarebytes with the rootkit and it found no infections. The same is true of aswMBR. Here are the relevant logs from aswMBR and FRST.

I am still getting the same notices as before.

There was an attachment error and combined them into the one post.

FRST will produce two logs … also attach additional.txt

Removal experts are in bed now, check back tomorrow

Here is the additional file. Many thanks!

Here you go this will stop it

Hello,

Thank you for your help. Here is the fix log. However, since logging on, I’ve gotten a ping from malwarebytes about Malicious website protection outbound to “IP 121.10.80.205, 22887, Outbound, C:\Users\Jae Shin\Program Files (x86)\DNA\btdna.exe”

I believe BTDNA is a process used by certain games including Star Wars: the old republic, which is installed on my machine. So would you know if this notice from malwarebytes is about a legitimate problem, or just overzealousness from the program?

As a note, I’ve been monitoring processes through Task Manager, and the crazily expanding memory hog processes all seem to be gone.

Thank you, again for all of your help!

Best regards,

Yes that is a legitimate process part of punkbuster I believe

How is the computer behaving now ?

I’ve waited some time and also restarted my machine. It seems to be free of the malware.

Thank you very much! I seriously appreciate all of your help.

Best regards and happy holidays!

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

I’m running those now. I think part of my problem was that I was running an older version of Java as well as Java 8 because I was using maptools to host games with friends, and that program didn’t support newer java. I’ll check out the links you posted now.

Thanks again! You are amazing.
