MALWARE?

I’m a little bit inexperienced and would like some help, please. Was browsing yesterday and got a MALWARE ALERT and was asked to ABORT the page which I did. Ran a scan and although 0 INFECTED FILES were found I checked the LOG VIEWER and found this under warnings:

10/9/2008 22:20:41 SYSTEM 1448 Sign of “HTML:Agent-L [Expl]” has been found in “http://1.keehas.com/stat?s=XZ34Cu4AN1aQWaaN;r=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fsearch%3Fhl%3Den%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft%3Aen-US%3AIE-SearchBox%26rlz%3D1I7DKUS%26q%3Dremington%2B788%2Bbarrels%26start%3D10%26sa%3DN\unp200257505” file.

My questions are:

  1. If Avast detected this MALWARE how come it ever got in?

2.Where is this file located, I was never able to find it through SEARCH,is it a temporary internet file?

  1. How do I get rid of it and if it’s just a temporary internet file will deleting those get rid of the MALWARE?

I’ve had other scans where infected files were found and was able to move them to the CHEST but am a bit at a loss on this one.
Sorry to be so inexperienced.

Wasn’t it detected by WebShield?

Seems that is a file in the Internet (http) and could be downloaded or accessed.

Did you ‘abort the connection’ to that site when avast alerted you?

When I opened the page I got both a popup and sound warning that malware was detected abd I should abort.

In the WARNINGS portion of the log file, is it just there to warn me that this particular web page has malware or does it tell me it’s in my temporary internet files?

Aborted immediately.

Good, so the connection was cut and the malware wasn’t activated.

That particular warning is related to a webpage, not a temporary Internet file.

O.k., so it’s just a warning about the page; I guess if I had not aborted it would have been found as an infected file in any subsequent change.

I meant scan not change.

Yes.
