Malwarebytes lol wtf

I made an usermade memory scan in avast! and It has detected mbam.exe as
Process 3276 [mbam.exe], memory from 0x000000000D2E0000, size 16580608. Severity: High. Threat: Win32: Crypt-MEW [trj]
Process 3276 [mbam.exe], memory from 0x000000000DEAA0000, size 16580608. Severity: High. Threat: Win32: SpyEyePlugin-E [trj]
LOL.
Nice False positive. You should fix these FP’s while scanning memory.

Thats exactly the reason why we tell everyone to untick the scan memory option, you’ve been on the forum long enough to know the reasons why ::slight_smile:

Some post more than they read.

Swear to >>insert higher power<<, they need to put a disclaimer on that setting though, so everyone can stop acting like it is something to fix.

I know !
But I though they fixed it in avast! 7. But still It’s Work In Progress as I see.

No it’s not a work in progress, there’s nothing to fix! you chose to scan memory and virus signitures of Malwarebytes were found in memory :o ;D either ignore it or dont scan memory.

the guys at avast have played with malware 24/7 for more than 20 years… they know what they do
unless you have some special needs…or know something they dont ::)… why change the default scan settings

What’s the reason for slagging off the OP. Every good AV scans the memory. Just because Avast can’t handle it properly doesn’t mean its a bad thing.

Or some people here don’t have the proper knowledge to understand some things.
"Star If you can’t explain something simply, you don’t know enough about it. " Albert Einstein.

memory is already part of the default scan…
using the extra memory scan setting will give you some weird results…
those that frequent the forum should know as the forum is full of cases…do a search and see

I don’t know what topic you are reading as I can’t see where the OP is getting slagged off.

It isn’t that avast can’t handle it, when you set off a scan looking for virus signatures and include memory scans, don’t be surprised when it reports just that. The custom scan and its associated memory scan if selected is more thorough, something which has been reported many times.

So same thing when you set an attack dog loose don’t be surprised if someone gets bitten.
