WOT is user biased.

Windows Defender does not clash with MBAM but keep it updated daily throug its portal:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Definitions/ADL.aspx <== download the 64-bit update file then run it.

Latest definition version: 1.79.1432.0

WinPatrol is a system monitor using a heuristic behavioral approach to detecting attacks and violations of your computing environment:

What I use is in my signature.

hi thanks for your valuable advice. just downloaded No script and adblock plus and winpatol hope if wont conflict with each other and kill my resource. WOT does not seem to be good. i will also like to know is MBAM (full version) conflict with Avast IS 5.0, because now my full system scan take too much time to complete, even with no other program runing. :-\ Windows 7 firewall seems to be working fine with Avast firewall. what say u guys? take care and plz keep me informed. bye

It’s ok.

It’s ok also.

Hello gautam,

Please ask if you don’t know how to use no script. Please know what it does: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NoScript

nmb

All these won’t make the browser lag ???

@Shiw^^

No…I have RP and NS… Firefox running blazingly fast!

BTW Request Policy for Firefox is recommended by many^^

Google chrome is good with no addition and if you sandbox it it will be better

As for me I can’t understand what this extension is necessary for. What advantages can it give to my protection? I tried it once and took it away: I couldn’t understand how to operate it.

I think Noscript is to protect you from hacked website or block java and it is up to you to enable/don’t enable it

I am speaking about RequestPolicy, not NoScript.

This is what I currently use:

Avast 5.0
Immunet - http://www.immunet.com/
ThreatFire - http://www.threatfire.com/

I also have Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware but I don’t have the Pro version, so it’s not always running. I don’t know if any of these would conflict with MBAM Pro but I suspect not.

For Firefox security I run these add-ons:

In the past I’ve also ran KeyScrambler Personal (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3383), but I’ve had the occasional technical problem with it so I don’t always run this.

I would also run SafeCache (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1474) but as of the time of this post it has not been updated to work with the latest version of FireFox.

I think that the only TACO I want would be the edible variety, I honestly don’t see the purpose or worth of this add-on. In fact I’m very sceptical about it as I don’t know where this opt-out would be retained and in doing so are you announcing your presence.

I use the firefox AdBlock Plus and Cookie Monster add-ons to manage Ads of all kinds and cookies of all classes (and block third party cookies in firefox), rather than use an add-on for what is effectively a sub-set of cookies in general.

I thing BetterPrivacy is now much depreciated since they sold out to someone involved in the very thing the original better privacy was designed to combat. Not to mention I also had conflict with this add-on.

I use the firefox RequestPolicy add-on which bolsters NoScript, which I feel more than makes up for better privacy.

I think you’re confusing it with Ghostery, David. Ghostery is the addon that sold out. Ghostery is also the one which has been causing problems in Firefox. BetterPrivacy hasn’t sold out and still works well at automatically deleting Flash cookies.

I use Avast 5, Sandboxie, WinPatrol, and Firefox with the NoScript, Adblock Plus, and BetterPrivacy extensions. I also have Firefox configured to automatically delete most cookies whenever it’s restarted (Firefox Options > Privacy > Keep until: I close Firefox).

I have windows 7 64 bit - AIS and err nothing else - don’t like Firefox so I only use IE

Oh I do have MBAM somewhere and run it weekly if I remember ;D

Thanks Alan, so many add-ons to try and keep up with ;D
Though I used to get issues with it shutting down my system, I would get a process n still running only after removing it did my system stop reporting a process that had to be shut don.

You’re welcome, David. It doesn’t give me any problems, but I’d delete it in a flash if it did. That said, what with 62 extensions it sometimes takes several seconds for Firefox to shutdown for me. A small price to pay for all that useful added functionality. I’ve gotten in the habit of shutting down my system from the Task Manager and only after firefox.exe has finished.
