MBAM blocks Avastsvc

Hi all,

I made an account because I have a weird problem.

I got Avast AntiVirus Pro and MBAM v3.2.2 (latest)

Ik rebooted my computer and when Win10 starts I get a popup by MalwareBytes that it blocked Avastsvc.exe

This is the message:

I searched Google and found this:

http://91.214.44.139.ipaddress.com/

It look like the IP address is from Avast???

Well I didn’t trusted it and put an backup (Image) back from a few days earlier. Rebooted and the popup came back!!!

Anyone knows what it is? More people with this popup?

I scanned with a few ondemand virusscanners. Nothing was found!

Greetings from Holland,

Jonathan

Regarding Avast & MBAM, see: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/200324-exclusions-for-avast-users/

Thank you!

So no malware/virus hiding on my computer?

Only MBAM

Seriously, I would follow Asyn’s suggestion and add exclusions. I would also suggest reporting this to MBAM, so they can correct this.

Thanks. Everything is back to normal

Thanks for the confirmation.

You’re welcome.

Hi,

Malwarebytes has been blocking the same IP address for me as well for the last few days (91.214.44.139)
Except that I don’t have Avast on my computer. I only have Malwarebytes and AVG, so how can an Avast IP be outgoing for me?

I did a Google search to see if anyone else recognized this IP address and this thread is the only result.
Neither AVG nor Malwarebytes could find anything after multiple full and thorough scans of my computer, so I don’t believe it’s infected, but the issue persists that Malwarebytes is blocking some outbound connection with that IP address.

Does anyone else have a clue of what this could be?

Now it makes sense how an Avast IP was outgoing without me having Avast installed!
But thank you, Eddy, that’s a big relief!
