MD5 Hash

Is there a published MD5 hash for the Windows install file? I didn’t see one on the Avast! site or on Download.com. Thanks.

Why not simply download the installer and create one?

I don’t understand your answer.

The idea is to verify the integrity of the downloaded file - to have a hash that I can compare to. To do this I need to know what the MD5 hash of the installer is from a trusted source before download; then, download, generate an MD5 hash and compare the results.

Avast checks for its integrity during install. If it installs fine, you know that the installer was nog currupted. Make a MD5 from it if you like, but there really is no need to have it.

OK.

The avast setup program is digitally signed. You can right click it and select Properties to find out if the signature is valid (=> the file integrity is OK)

Thanks @Vlk.
