Mdes sdk v4 3rd party host

A pair of processes with that name popped up in my task manager and lead to files named “wa_3rd_party_host_32.exe” and “wa_3rd_party_host_64.exe” in my Avast folder. I have never seen this before and can’t find anything about Avast using this online, but this process apparently can be associated with malware.

Are these supposed to be here?

I don’t know if you ever got an answer to this but apparently it has something to do with Mastercard, I’m guessing maybe some sort of payments related exe file that seems to be built into various antivirus’, which makes sense when you can sign up for plans directly from them. If it help, I also ran both the 32 and 64 variation of this file through VirusTotal and it didn’t trigger any results for malware from over 70 different antivirus vendors.

hi,
I was going to create a new topic following the appearance of these 2 processes in my task manager and which are in the avast folder.

While searching, I also found these files as being related to OPSWAT and MASTERCARD.

However, these files seem to be launched only during a “software updater” scan or with smartscan, which also launches SU.
not launches with full scan, Network inspector, …
