Have used Avast for several years and am finally getting around to asking about the title (i.e. first) page.
What does the percentage (mine is always 0%) indicate? The 0% is inside the circle in the middle of the page.
The percentage scanned is just a very rough indication of the progress.
You could say it is totally useless as it is not possible to calculate how long a scan will take.
If you start a scan, just wait till it is finished.
