Sorry, I’ve bad news…

Melissa is on my computer and avast did not see anything.
So Avast can not help me today.

Melissa is a virus

What can I do.
please help

Melissa is quite old, avast! should catch it:

How do you know Melissa is on your computer if avast! didn’t catch it?

What is the file name and location?

All right…thank you for having answer so quickly

and please …i’m sorry about my english which is not very good (I’m french)

Anyway I gonna try to explain my situation n few and simply words

complement on the subject…

first it is on my PC and my Mac.

1.windows XP french + sp 2 on dell latitude 500
Avast is my principal computer security program(s) .

2.Mac osx on imac
virus barrier is my computer security program(s) .

“How do you know Melissa is on your computer if avast! didn’t catch it?”
I had to try a scan online with trend PC-cilline

At the moment all that I find it is defines, statistics and the some solution suggested
does not work in the current configuration of my machines.

“What is the file name and location?”
It affects the documents Word and only Word.So files infected are in my documents folder.

What location does Trend Micro Housecall report the virus in and what is the error messgage as to why it can’t delete it?

Is the file in some kind of email archive?

You will need to downlad clamXav from http://www.clamxav.com to clean your Mac (you must be running 10.3.9 or Higer for 1.0.1 if you are running 10.2.8 make sure you download the jaguar only version)

FYI to everyone Macro viruses DO afect the mac platform if you enable them in office for mac

All my files in ".doc "are contaminated by Melissa i don’t manage to repair it.

Melissa is also on my power mac G3/233MHz/4Go/mac OS9.2.2

Clamxav report me that there are files with a virus “Melissa” but i don’t know how to repair with clamxav.

I still need help.

how are you running clamxav if you have Mac OS 9.2.2, that is a Mac OS X only program

for 9.2.x you will need to purchase Norton AV for mac which should include the older Norton 7.0 for Mac OS 9 that will dsinfect the files
