Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library - Runtime Error

Hi all,

Booted up this morning, and on persuing another thread, caused an alert for the webshield. At the same time that the webshield alert appeared, so did this error…

Not sure if the two are related, or even that this error is a problem, just thought it needs reporting.

Oddly, I had left the alert open on the screen for a while until I was finished with what I was doing (this included using avast!) and now that I have ok’d the alert, the tray icon is gone, and there are no avast! processes running.

Vista SP2…

EDIT: Running avast! from start menu brought back both the tray icon and the avastUI in TM

If this happens again, it would be useful to create a dump of the AvastUi.exe process (before closing the message box).

Will do

I will need to disable the self defense though wont I if it happens again?

Ok, so I got the same error again…

5.0.668, Win 7 64

I have created the dump file. Should I upload it?

Happened when testing avast! detection of an infected site (if it matters…)

Yes, certainly, maybe the dump reveals something.

Ok, it is uploading now (i think ;))

spgscott-AvastUI.dmp

It says it is uploaded. Did you get it?

Yes, thanks, I passed it on.

OK, hope it helps
