Mirror server on different sites

Hi to all,

We have 4 sites linked together with a slow VPN connection, all sites are in the same AD, with different subnets.
Is it possible to install mirror servers on each site that keep up to date clients and manage all sites with one AEA console ?

i don’t find any info on that topic.

Thanks a lot

Yes, you can.

You have to create an installation package for the mirror and install it in any machine in the remote site (your avast! server in the site)

You have to create a group in the avast! computer catalog for every remote site and configure the local ip adress of the mirror in every site.

Thanks a lot, I try what you explained, but the install Failled(0x000000005)
With access denied message.

Even I use an administrator account

Is it possible to install by hand with a simple installer the mirror ? Because our VPN bandwidth are really low…

Thanks

You can create a mirror.exe to be installed by hand.

I have done what you’ve said.

But on the distant server when I start the newly created mirror.exe I have this message :
Setup GUI DLL was not initialized successfully. Setup cannot continue.

And nothing in the event manager

Any ideas ?

Update the mirror in the AEA before create the mirror.exe package

Update the mirror in the AEA before create the mirror.exe package

Sorry, but I have updated AEA last week, the mirror.exe isn’t updated too ?

Or, wherre can I update the mirror.exe in AEA

Thanks

Hi,

I finally finish to install the mirror.exe on 2 external site.

Last question, why when I deploy client from the AEA on site 1 to client on site 2, the client download the installer from the site 1 and not from the mirror server on site 2 ?
like you’ve said before I have change the upadat server in the computer group box.

Because all the deployments are from the AEA, not from the mirrors.

When you deploy avast! to a new machine, there is not way to send the installation files from the mirror, the installation files are sent from the AEA who is the machine that run the deployment task.

After the installation, the client updates his group policies, and it begins to update from the mirror.

Thank for this clear explanation…

I’ll try to deploy client with a startup script batch and the client.exe on a DFS

Hope this way i can install client from different site, my vpn is too too slow
