Missing Sandbox/Virtualization

Hello,

I have Avast Pro antivirus, and I noticed that on my Windows 7 computer, the Sandbox options are missing.
They are all there on a separate XP machine, and appear to work fine.

Not only is it missing from the right click menus, but its also missing in the RealTime Shields section of Avast. Both Process Virtualization and Script Shield are missing.

Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks

Did you add the license key in that computer?

Yes its the same license key on both computers (we have a multi PC license), and both are active and working fine.

Maybe you have accidantly unchecked it during installation? Check Programs and Features and see if Virtualization is checked. If not, you can add it at any time.

seemed easy enough… but its still not working properly.

I added them like you said, and now the features appear in my Avast window.
However, the Virtualization parameters are all unchecked, and when I check them and click ok, they dont save. if i go back to the parameters, everything is unchecked again.

As for script shield, when I go to that one, it says “Protection Status Unknown”. And if i try to start it, it says “Unable to start Script Shield. Shield Unreachable”

Any ideas?
Thanks

earthbolt, your installation is messed…
I suggest an installation from scratch:

  1. Download the latest version of avast! Uninstall Utility and save it.
  2. Download the latest avast! version and save it.
  3. Uninstall avast from Control Panel (if possible). If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after that.
  4. Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1. If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after you’ve run it.
  5. Install avast! using the setup saved on 2. Boot.
  6. Register your free copy or add the license key for Pro.
  7. Check and post the results.

Thanks. I guess that’s my only choice :frowning:
I’ll try it and let you know.

reinstall did the trick.
Thanks

Wow… I’m glad with you
