Missing topics

The old forum was in read only mode for a while. I believe the end date for that was september 26.

After that period ended but before the migration to the new forum, the old forum was still active.

All the topics and posts from that period on the old forum are now missing. They haven’t been migrated to the new forum.

Edit: I think this needed to be in Community Feedback - Avast Community
Please move.

they messed up the whole line, they probably won’t fix it, and there was a lot of helpful information there

I believe there was a header message or it was in an email that said until complete forum update new posts would be lost as read only.

it’s not about new posts but about old topics with solutions, they don’t work now and you won’t find a solution to the problems until someone solves them and writes them again.
For example, the topic of solving the avast passwords add-on:

None of the solution links work and this is the case in many, if not all, topics.
All you see is something like this:
An error occurred while processing your request.

The passwords link works fine here, have you tried clearing your browsers history and saved cookies?

Theme works but content doesn’t. I checked on pc, mozilla, chrome, laptop and android.
Please open this link and choose one, for example this one:
https://pamcdn.avast.com/pamcdn/extensions/install/win/extension/en.html#firefox

Not sure what the pamcdn is in your address.

This is your Avast Passwords for Firefox link which works perfectly fine for me

ok my friend, I will try to explain it even simpler. Please open this link from avast passwords for firefox, go to the last page and try to open the link, the one I pasted.
And “pamcdn” my friend, this is the beginning of links in the old avast forum.

Seems only links with the pamcdn is what is affected, there is a google chrome link just above that post from the same date that works just fine.
You might need Avast staff to respond for answers me thinks

That’s right, but this topic, if you haven’t noticed, is about help for firefox. Everything worked without a problem, I often used this guide when I refreshed the browser or windows once a month. My friends also used it. And I wanted to do it again, but it doesn’t work, after moving to a new forum. I searched other old topics and found many more than just this one. I think that help from technicians won’t change anything, they knew perfectly well what they were doing.

Simple example, type in google “avast security problem” and find a topic starting with “forum/avast…” and try to open it, see what happens. It will take you to the main page of the new forum. And if you are lucky, you will find the topic maybe. But any internal links will not work.

Avast staff are still in the process of migrating many old to new topics/processes so in time things will be gradually sorted out.
I’ll report this issue discussed

I hope you’re right, but I know from experience that it can be difficult and take months. Where, you use certain things daily, it’s like the end of the world.
I’ll open a topic in the appropriate section, maybe someone will know another solution. Thanks for the conversation. It’s a pity that no moderator joined.

I’ve already posted it in the moderator/avast team board

thanks mate

pamcdn links are dead before forum migration. And sadly support of Avast Passwords deceased long ago… we just have to hope these systems are still somewhat maintained.

I used this link a month ago, so I can’t agree that it’s been dead for a long time. I refresh my browser every month and I used this solution to add the plugin.
Until today, I was using the plugin on the Mozilla browser, besides, I discovered that all topics searched through google, starting with avast/forum… do not work directly with google, I wrote this above and anyone can check it.

The header I read stated that it was a specific period that ended somewhere on the 26th. But that wasn’t the date of the migration, so new topics and posts were made after the 26th, and all that info is now lost.

OK. I hope that in time we will see the missing topics show up again.

Strange, for me similar link was dead since some months ago…
In any case, it doesn’t related to the forum upgrade. It’s a problem of Avast Passwords.

Sorry buddy but you probably don’t read well or everything. If this is how avast tech support works, I’m not surprised there are problems…
I will write for the third time, especially for you, because for some reason you do not want to see the problem.
Here we go again " Simple example, type in google “avast security problem” and find a topic starting with “forum/avast…” and try to open it, see what happens. It will take you to the main page of the new forum. And if you are lucky, you will find the topic maybe. But any internal links will not work"

And no, this is not about AVAST PASSWORD.
