modify profile in webforum

How do I modify ‘country’ in Avast webforum. I seem to have been attributed a wrong country and can’t find a modify tab that will bring up a selection box.

Click on profile, click on modify profile. ;).

Im only getting account settings in modify profile. Perhaps because Im new to the forum. I got the DCOM event this morning so I went to the forum. The only other time was to sort the false positive thing which worked out good. But I dont really have problems to work on with viruses. Not normally. I load Avast for users and they dont get viruses anymore. Am I missing something here?

How did I get to be on Norfolk Island. Any idea how I can change my country status or has that been taken out of my hands.

mkis, you need at least 30 posts to get you up in status.

This restriction was put in place because spammers open an account then begin dropping their drivel right away.

It goes by your IP address I believe.

I would much prefer to be where you are than in Cold Canada EH!

Okay I need to post some issues. The DCOM thing was a Microsoft sort-out (attacks warded off - unexiting, but security did its job). Nearly all my problems are Microsoft sort-outs because they keep shuffling the pack on everybody. Soon to be Vista or nothing. I’m doing some stuff soon turning off unneeded services in “services.msc” for better PC performance, especially with 32 bit Vista in mind. So perhaps I can post about that and build up my profile. I load XP, so start there and move on. Take a while though since have lots of otherwise things to do and of course bound to disable a service that was needed, and so on and so forth. And have to stay in Norfolk for a while, I guess. Wouldn’t mind living there. But unfortunately, I dont.

By the way I tested DCOM on that PC and I was protected but I’ve closed port 135 to the outside world anyway there is currently have no need for it. Appreciate support from webforum contributors. Well worth the time to check the posts and topics more often.

Update your Windows completely, use a firewall and let avast Network Shield on.
