I had £55 taken from my bank account recently even though I only use the free version. My avast account says I have no subscriptions. I have tried for days to get through to avast but its just dead links. This is my last hope. I would like my money back please. This has caused me too much stress and I want it resolved ASAP.
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
Have you ever tried the 30/60 day free trial for Avast Premium ?
- The reason I ask is you have to complete a payment mandate that will kick in at the end of the trial period. Otherwise how would Avast get your banking details ?
There have been some scam emails for all of the major Antivirus companies, saying you are going to be charged £/$XX.XX.
This scares most that receive and ring the telephone number in the email, where they will try to get confirmation on your bank details, etc. Not only that it confirms they have a live email, which could get targeted for other scam attempts.
Thanks for your reply David. I tried the full version in May and cancelled it a few days after. Here is the last email I got from avast,
| You’ve successfully unsubscribed from Avast Ultimate (Multi-Device). This means you’ve disabled auto-billing, and we’ll no longer bill you for this subscription. | |
|---|---|
| You can still use your premium features until your current subscription period expires on 14 June 2025. To keep using your premium features after this date, you’ll need to purchase a new subscription. |
My account says I have no subsciptions. There is nothing to cancel. I cant get in touch with anyone for them to explain what’s going on.
You’re welcome.
This is certainly very strange, but as an Avast user I’m limited in what I can do.
I will try and draw attention to it in another area of the forum.
Hi @user5700 , Im sorry to hear about your experience. I asked my colleagues to reach out to you shortly.
Can you please specify how you ended up at this dead-end? If you don’t see any order in your Avast Account, you should be able to access our support on this website: Contact Avast Support - Avast Phone Number, and Chat Support (select - Refund - Avast software products - I did not want to renew automatically - Get support).
To log in to your account, are you using the same email address that you used for your Ultimate trial… where you provided your bank details?
Logically, your account login ID is the email address to which avast replied confirming that you had successfully cancelled Ultimate in May.
However, £55 does not seem to correspond to the purchase of Ultimate. Could you have requested a trial of another product using a different email address?
