monxga32.exe Rootkit?

Hi there,

If anyone could help/shed some light on this it would be very much apreciated.

On startup this morning just as the PC got to the desktop, Avast flagged up with the Rootkit warning. I had’nt even started a
browser up, which was even more worrying. Avast said that the problem had been moved to the virus chest & the file was ‘monxga32.exe’.

Did a google search for similar problems & a few other people have been reporting this as of a couple of days ago it seems.

Im using Avast free edition on XP.

Again, any help would be grately appreciated.

Thanks

So, what kind of help do you need?
If avast put it to chest, you should be safe.
If you like you can also download and run free Mbam to check your system.

Well it was just a bit alarming that I hadnt even opened a browser & the alarm went off, possibly signalling a bigger
problem?

Will d/l Mbam though & double check, sorry for not being clearer.

Thanks

No problem…!
