I have a problem, it really is typical so i think it’s not going to be very hard…
I have been assigned to be the technical service coordinator in my college students activity center, well obviously my real job is to help those who have problems with their computer and fix them…
Recently, i have some problems (their’s actually), that their overall PC’s performance has been significantly decrease because of malwares.
What I want to know is what do i have to do after I have eradicated all the viruses, but the computer still hasn’t returned o its fast performance yet… what do i have to do…
Thanks for Everything before…
PS:Mr.Tech r u online… can you help me with this…?
What if the computer still have a bad performance after i clean all the adware and spyware… and aren’t there malwares that alter the value of the registry? how do I know what they alter and what is the original key value…?
Sorry for asking too much, but i really need a lot to learn.
BTW, are there anything you would suggest me to learn/read…?
I you have ascertained the machines are not compromised, you have to clean them using Url Cache Explorer, and learn people to clean their machines after every session, clean out temporary files, cookies, history files using Url Cache Exporer, works well with IE.
You could also download SpyAudit and scan the machines, results are shown, but not cleansed.
The 1st site I would recommend for increasing your
knowledge of computer “performance” would be what the
Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals have to say on the
forums at www.aumha.net . Regarding fighting spyware,
antiSPYWARE forums such as Spybot’s
( http://forums.spybot.info ) and Ad-Aware
( www.landzdown.com ) would be good .
For programs that automatically clean Temporary Internet
Files, Internet History, Recent Documents List, etc
check out “Traceless” from www.traceless.cjb.net .
