Why does avast! not insert a scan note on all incoming mail?
As far as I can tell have configured it to scan and note incoming mail, but some mail doesn’t have the note.
My isp uses SSL/TLS security, but I have tried it with and without that setting.
I just upgraded to Thunderbird 3.0 if that’s related.
I really think you should have started a new topic than activate this relic topic that is over 6 years old.
The whole point of SSL (secure encrypted) email is to keep prying eyes out including anti-viruses. Even avast 4.8.1368 can’t change that and you need to have a third party interface like STunnel to be able to scan secure email before it gets encrypted.
avast 5 when released has a means to be able to handle secure connections.
I don’t want to go into detail in this ancient topic (which is unrelated to your question), if you need more information, please create a new topic, thanks.
