Hello, my computer is infected with this weird program that causes pop ups to constantly come up saying my computer is infected
and also Windows Security alerts pop up. It is called MS Antispyware 2009. The link below gives more information.

In addition to what Charley has recommended, you might want to consider installing a real time anti-spyware scanner alongside MalwareBytes (the free version is on demand only.) Windows Vista already comes preinstalled with Windows Defender but if you have Windows XP and have the extra system resources to spare, the options that are available for free are, again, Windows Defender and Spyware Terminator…

The Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware is quite effective against this, if it detects any files associated with rogue security programs, etc. that avast hasn’t detected before you deal with them using MBAM, send a copy to the avast Chest, User Files section, see below, the original remains in place and can then be dealt with by MBAM.
Submit the sample to avast as undetected malware:
Add the file to the User Files (File, Add) section of the avast chest (if it isn’t already there) where it can do no harm and send it from there. A copy of the file/s will remain in the original location, so you will need to take further action and can remove/rename that.
Send it from the User Files section of the chest (select the file, right click, email to Alwil Software). It will be uploaded (not actually emailed) to avast when the next avast auto (or manual) update is done.
did anyone already try the microsoft tool to remove bad software which is available regularly through windows update?
it should remove all this fake-antiviruses i heared…

Perhaps they don’t want to wait for the next MS Patch Tuesday security updates for the next version of the Malicious Software Removal Tool, assuming it even detects it.
