My 1gb usb doesn't fit under 1gb of stuff?

I was putting a file on there, Crossfire - It says 0.97Gb (Total file size) When it get’s too 0.93GB it says it is full, There is nothing else on the usb?

I can’t put it through network places either because it’s not showing other comps

a 1GB flash drive will never be 1GB. The formatted capacity is always less than whats advertised. This is due to file-system overhead and shady marketing.

They market a 1GB as 1,000,000,000 bytes (usually says so in fine print somewhere on the package). When in reality 1 GB is 1,073,741,824 bytes.

They do the same with CDs. To them 1MB= 1,000KB when its actually 1,024KB.

Hi…

You could purchase a bigger USB flash drive. I think you live in the UK, so here is a site that sells them there.

May God Bless you!

I think Husk might live in the West Antipode. (As opposed to the East Antipode, where I live.)
Dick Smith’s should sell them at a good price.

Hehe ;D

Try Australia

I do have a 2gb one but I don’t know where it is, So I just put it on in halves. They should make it full size. So many small size usbs to what there actually is

Just read up

it’s

8,589,934,592 Bytes

And,

I want one of these http://www.getusb.info/50-terabyte-flash-drive-made-of-bug-protein/

Australia. The West Antipode.

Hi all…

Well, I was a bit off with that one but not too badly, different geographic location, same flag (Union Jack.) ;D

Best Regards…

Hi ardvark,

Very true, just that our independence came about quite differently. ;D
