My account says I have installed Avast on 2 PC's?

Hi,

I got a new SSD hard drive and reinstalled my PC. I put Avast on and paid for it at the same time for another year. My account says I have it installed on 2 PC’s, my subscription says “Active on 2 devices in the last 30 days”. My accounts says: For 1 device. Used on 2. What is the solution to this, I contacted support and was told “This is a known bug with Avast” which is wrong, the person on the chat -after I explained multiple times kept telling me its a bug. Its a simple problem that the support person could not understand.

The server side has got the same activation code for two PC’s, the old one and my new installed one. The old hard drive is formatted and a slave now, so it does not exist any more.

Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

Hi, no need to take action, it should settle after 30 days.

Thank you for your reply. That makes sense to me, what you have said when looking at how its being reported. It really was the answer I was looking for from support, which -well yeah…

Thanks

You’re welcome.

In addition …
The subject is a bit old, but I got an answer from avast for a case quite similar to yours: a hard disk out of order on which you can’t uninstall avast anymore:

I read the thread, it was helpful.

Thank you.

Someone at Avast has rectified the licensing issue described earlier. It is a fairly simple problem, thanks for fixing it.

I was getting pop ups telling me to pay x amount of € for the additional devices.

Here is the before and after. The mixed up license is removed and the new corrected license is attached.

Whoever did this, thank you.
