My Acer Laptop Vista 32 sp2 does not load, stops @ aswrvrt.sys

I need help from you guys.
I saw the link https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
I downloaded OTLPENet.exe and burn it on a CD, the CD is not recognised. When the burning was being done by imgburn it said the burning was completed successfully. there was another program which then asked administrator permission, the program being by some “Igor” I cancelled it.
Please advise.

Is cd/dvd set as first bootdevice in the bios ?

Yes, I changed the boot to CD/DVD on bios

I just tested it and it works without a problem for me.
I did not get a question to run something as administrator.
When you try to boot from the cd, do get to see “booting from cd” or something like that right after the bios post?

Also try the cd on another system.

Now my laptop does not even recognise my factory default disc! and safe mode stops at ntkrnlpa.exe
Please advise

I have been able to use the Reatogo disc! It was due to the disc lens. I just rubbed it gently like rubbing a magic gem, the magic happened. Please find attached the FRST txt. Feeling Hopeful…

Please also attach the addition.txt log that Farbar has created.

Sorry, no addition.txt was found. I did the scan again and still no addition.txt. Why is that?

If I look at all the problems you are having…

  • aswrvrt.sys
  • ntkrnlpa.exe
  • dirty or failing cd/dvd drive
  • not recognizing the factory default disc!
  • many minidump files
    etc…

I would say perform a clean installation of Windows.

This will remove the Avast start up drivers but I do not feel that is the problem, as Eddy said there are a few minidumps. Have you had may blue screens ?

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Start FRST and press fix
On completion try a normal boot
